Raquel Lopez, LMA, LLT, has been in the beauty and aesthetic industry for over 10 years and has been a licensed medical aesthetician for 5+ years. She was born and raised in Houston, Texas in the Kingwood area. Raquel attended the University of Arkansas where she persued a bachelor’s degree in biology and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.
After college Raquel worked as a freelance makeup artist for various luxury brand titans such as Estée Lauder, Lancôme, and Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy (LVMH) as a published makeup artist and skincare consultant, where she took on a role in retail and product education and training management.
After 3 years with Benefit Cosmetics, Raquel was encouraged by another aesthetician to pursue a career in conventional and medical aesthetics because of her love for skin health and skincare. She completed her Aesthetic program at The Aveda Institute and later attended the Texas Laser Institute to further her education in Intense Pulse Light (IPL) treatment and skin rejuvenation and Laser Hair Removal and Resurfacing. Raquel is trained at length with brands such as SkinBetter Science, Alastin, Skinceuticals, SkinMedica, ZO and iSClincial and is a certified FaceReality Acne specialist.
She enjoys combining the traditional wellness and comforting aspects of traditional spa with medical and clinical treatments, as well as educating her patients, so she can deliver the best possible experience and outcome. She is versed in treatments such as dermaplaning, superficial to advanced chemical peels, microneedling, skin resurfacing, skin tightening, corrective skincare and post-surgical scar correction as well as brow/eye mapping and balancing.
In her free time Raquel enjoys spending time with her son Sage, and her husband Adam, reading and researching the latest in clinical skincare trials, listening to true crime podcasts and weightlifting. Follow her work on Instagram @houstonsglowtogirl
